THE ADVENTURE IS
CLOSER THAN YOU THINK

Around The Pearl, there is always something going on. Walk through the silence of the Stille Kern or take the kids to the Gnome Forest. Hop on your mountain bike and follow Zeewolde's challenging MTB route, or stop at one of the local farms along the way. Culture and history are also within easy reach: discover the VOC ship in Lelystad or wander the old streets of Harderwijk, Amersfoort and Utrecht. For animal lovers, the AAP Foundation in Almere is a great place to meet rescued monkeys and other animals up close.

DISCOVER NATURE YOUR WAY

The nature around De Parel invites you to go out. In the Stille Kern you can hear what silence sounds like: open spaces, reed beds and free roaming Konik horses give you the feeling of being completely alone for a while. For families, the Kabouterpad is a little adventure; children follow the red pointed hats and playfully discover the forest. Those looking for the challenge can take the Zeewolde MTB route, winding paths and surprising curves along. Here you experience nature the way you want: quiet, playing or full of adrenaline.

Stories of the past, places of the present

There is also much to discover outside of nature. In Lelystad, you can see the VOC ship Batavia and learn about the maritime history of the Netherlands. Harderwijk's old town invites you to wander through atmospheric streets and squares, with cozy terraces along the way. A little further afield, Amersfoort, Amsterdam and Utrecht bring you right into the middle of history, from medieval city walls to impressive churches and lively canals. Each place has its own story and lets you take a moment to reflect on the past while enjoying the present.
