DISCOVER THE LARGEST DECIDUOUS FOREST
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NETHERLANDS

The Horsterwold is the largest deciduous forest in the Netherlands, an area where you can move endlessly. Narrow paths wind through dense forest, wide trails lead you past open plains and water. Here you can walk, run or cycle at your own pace. For those looking for more of a challenge, there are special mountain bike routes

FLORA AND FAUNA

The Horsterwold originated after the reclamation of Flevoland and has grown into one of the largest deciduous forests in the Netherlands. Dense stretches of poplar forest alternate with clearings and water.

In the Stille Kern, konik horses keep the landscape open, alternating grasslands, swamps and young trees. You always see something new: from dragonflies above the fens to Scottish Highlanders in the distance.
